When more than five entities are sponsoring an event and/or there are sponsors contributing at notably different levels, tiered sponsorship levels should be used.
Determine sponsor/partner levels based on the following categories:
1. FOUNDING SPONSOR
The individual or organization who underwrites the majority of costs for an inaugural annual event.
-
Founding Sponsors should always appear first in relationship to other sponsorship tiers.
- This terminology should only be used with the first recurring event, or the event's second year. For the event's consecutive years, choose one of the two sponsor options below.
2. PRESENTING SPONSOR
The individual or organization that donates financial support, products or services to underwrite a majority of the event costs AND actively participates in the day-of event.
3. MAJOR FUNDING SPONSOR
The individual or organization that donates financial support to underwrite the majority of event costs.
4. CONTRIBUTORS
The individual or organization that donates financial support less than major funding sponsors, or in-kind donation of products or services within a specified dollar amount.
5. COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS
The individuals or organizations from the local community donating financial support, products or services to incrementally offset the costs of an event.
