While Ohio State strictly limits which units may be connected with the university logo, there are many ways for a unit within CFAES to identify itself. This section provides options designed to give every unit the flexibility to represent itself in unique ways. While we do make recommendations for application, you should choose the option that best fits your needs. You may also combine two treatments on the same piece.
CFAES Tag + Band
Reserved exclusively for Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) and Ohio State University Extension, this visual identity system features the scarlet CFAES tag paired with the unit name in all capital letters in white sans serif text on a gray band positioned horizontally across the top of the page.
Kicker
Departments, schools, and offices can identify themselves by placing their name above the headline of the piece, aligned left, preferably in all caps and preferably in scarlet.
Headline
Departments and schools can also identify themselves by using their name as the headline of the piece.
Signoff
Campuses, labs, centers, county offices, programs, and cross-department or cross-unit collaborative efforts can identify themselves by placing their name flush right at the bottom corner of the page, preferably in all caps and preferably in scarlet.
